Green leaves of a prayer plant fold up in a yawn.
Red tail feathers wiggle,
Blue and green feathers fluff and relax into the energy of the pink and gold sunset.
The evening lies down for a peaceful dream under the sparkling stars
as my parrot and I dream the dream of the Infinite.

Yesterday was the day that my friend Buddy, the Daddy parakeet decided it was time to part our world. He is the Dad to the two baby Parakeets that were born in the spring. They turned out to both be girls.
Buddy was found Sunday morning when they were being uncovered for the morning. He was in the bottom of the cage, feet wrapped around the bottom rungs of the cage like he sat there on purpose. He had no marks or any signs of something being wrong. Mom says, It was just his time to go and that age doesn’t matter. he was only about 4 years old, so he is definitely not the oldest bird in my family.
Yesterday was a melancholy day, and today has not been far above that. His leaving has made me ponder Life, Death, and the entire cycle. I guess that is a natural direction for one’s thoughts after they have lost such a special friend. Mom says I need to find the joy, because Buddy was always a joyous bird. His songs were happier and louder than the other birds’ and he was always fond of being right in Tiki’s face. He always wanted to be with the other birds. he never cared if he had alone time, or “his own space”. He seemed oblivious to Tiki’s annoyance at times when he had talked in her face for hours. He was just full of love and sang his love in every song. After learning the joy of hearing Parakeets’ songs, I do not ever want to live without parakeets around me. Buddy, Tiki, and Nikki were with me through some hard times in my life, as well as many, many wonderful times. I will always remember the day I picked him out from all the other birds in the cage. He was happy, flitting around being social, being Him. And I will always remember peaking into the nest box and seeing him help Tiki feed the baby birds. He would even bring food to Tiki while she was sitting in there with them. He was a good Dad, and a Good Bird. The Earth will surely miss his loving song.

I have been using Young Living Essential Oils since Spring of 2003. My Reiki Master introduced me to them back then and I decided to start with the essential 7 kit to see what they were about. I am so glad that I decided to try them because now they are a staple in my everyday life. By using the oils, I am able to stay healthy and deal with a chronic spine issue without the use of prescription or over the counter medications. I have learned a lot these past 6 years about the oils and I decided to share some of this information in this blog so that others interested might decide to choose the healthiest option for optimum health.

There are some oils that I never leave home without:
Lavender, Peppermint, Abundance, and Thieves.
If i get a cut or scrape i can put a drop of Lavender in it to stop the pain and heal it. Peppermint takes care of nausea, heartburn, indigestion and any type of inflammation, Abundance sets my energetic field with the frequency of abundance and I wear it before going to the grocery to find the best deals and save the most money. Thieves is a must have to keep from catching colds, virus’s, and other airborne diseases that you can catch from random people out and about.

I could not get them both in one picture because they kept moving around. But here they are now that they are a month old and have their feathers. Ignore my camera picture date. My camera date is not set correctly for some reason.
These baby birds have really made my heart sing this week. Hearing them coo and sing and chirp had been a blessing to my heart. The first one is now 5 days old, second one is 4 days old. They are just adorable. And another miracle- I got to see them being fed by the parents when I checked on them after work yesterday evening. It was the neatest thing!
This morning both babies were singing happily in the nest box! Below are some pictures I took Saturday afternoon. They are already so much bigger than in these pics.
